ABOUT

Salasar Balaji ShipBreakers

Salasar Balaji Shipbreakers Pvt Ltd is a family-run ship recycling business established by our Chairman Sanjiv Chaudhry. He is an industry veteran who has been recycling ships, military tanks and factories since 1983. Joining him in the business as of 2013 year is son Abhishek.

His small entrepreneurial venture has evolved to become one of the most reputable and successful shipyards in India. As Salasar Balaji has expanded, the company has been fortunate to gain a team of highly trained employees.

Salasar Balaji combines reliable, traditional values with a modern outlook. Sanjiv brings decades of invaluable experience and strong relationships, while Abhishek is leading a new generation of automation and compliances. A hands-on pair, Sanjiv and Abhishek are frequently onsite to ensure the environmental and safety regulations are being followed to the highest standard. Together, the Chaudhrys are building a cleaner, greener, and safer future in the shipbreaking industry.

In addition to shipbreaking, Salasar Balaji has expanded into trading of shiploads of scraps, finished steel products from around the world and even tanks from Kuwait. They have also ventured into the recycling of factories and power plants and continue to look for opportunities to diversify the business.
